Or, you may read the Frequently Asked Questions list, just below.
As a program is used, people start to ask questions about the "little" details of its use. The remainder of this page shows the most frequently asked questions regarding HUD-1. If this page does not answer your question, please let us know using the options above.
HUD-1 Main Module Questions
Q - How do I start a new form?
A - Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-N or use the
File|New menu command.
Q - How do I read the help file?
A - Press the F1 key (the function 1 key) or use the
Help|General Topics menu command.
Q - Can I use HUD-1 under Unix/Linux using Wine?
A - HUD-1 can run in a Unix/Linux environment using the Wine Windows API Emulator, however, due to an alternate interpretation of the Microsoft Visual FoxPro End User License Agreement offered by Mr. Ken Levy, Microsoft's Visual FoxPro marketing manager, HUD-1 will not be supported in that environment at this time. Mr. Levy issued the following statement April 29th, 2003:
"Visual FoxPro was designed and tested for use in creating
applications that run on the Microsoft Windows platform; the
same applies to the components that are provided to
developers for redistribution with Visual FoxPro-based
applications. If a developer wishes to distribute the Visual
FoxPro runtime with an application, the runtime may only
operate in conjunction with a Microsoft Windows platform. As
with any contract, you should seek your own legal counselís
advice when interpreting your rights and obligations under
the Visual FoxPro End User License Agreement."
Many people in the IT profession do not agree, nevertheless, the HUD-1 staff has reluctantly decided to withdraw support for operating HUD-1 under a *NIX/WINE environment. This does not mean that the individual user can't try it, it just means that we won't support it.
